Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane carrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down following established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative said in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident does not mark the initial instance that a American defense plane ferrying a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
